This is About Us

I decided to stop saying “someone should do something” and started saying “I need to do something.” But I can’t do it alone. This campaign is about us. It’s about building a foundation for a District 4 where all our voices are heard and our needs are met.

Your lived experience is the data and stories we need in order to make better decisions.

You Ask. We Listen.

Transparency matters. Here are answers to

Volunteering is how neighbor becomes neighbor.

Local elections are decided by relationships, not television ads. When someone from Watsonville knocks on a door, makes a phone call, or hosts a conversation, it carries weight because it comes from trust.

This campaign is powered by people who live here. Parents. Students. Farmworkers. Small business owners. Retirees. Every conversation helps us understand what District 4 needs and reminds voters that their voice matters.

Volunteering also shapes the campaign itself. The stories we hear at the door influence policy priorities and help ensure our decisions reflect real lived experience.

In Watsonville, change has always come from community showing up. That is how we win — together.

A platica is simply a conversation.

You invite a few neighbors, friends, or family members to your home, a park, or a community space. We help with the logistics. Elias shares why he is running, listens to concerns, and answers questions directly.

There is no pressure and no formal program. It is about real dialogue — affordability, safety, youth opportunity, and what your neighborhood needs.

We provide materials if helpful, but the most important part is the conversation itself.

Watsonville has always moved forward through relationships. A platica keeps that tradition alive.

Your experience is not just a story. It is information.

When neighbors share what they are facing — housing costs, overcrowding, safety concerns, youth resources — we track those themes carefully. They inform campaign priorities and help shape policy proposals.

We do not use stories without permission. If you want your name attached, we will ask. If you prefer to remain private, we respect that.

Community stories guide this campaign. They help ensure decisions are grounded in real life, not assumptions.

Listening is how leadership earns trust.

Once you sign up, a member of our team will reach out within a few days.

We will ask about your availability, interests, and comfort level. Some people prefer door knocking. Others prefer phone banking, hosting conversations, or helping behind the scenes.

You will receive clear information about upcoming opportunities and training if needed. No one is expected to figure things out alone.

We move at the pace of community. Whether you can give 1 hour or 1 afternoon, there is a role for you.
